About

Peace be with you.
Daily, I strive to share resources and experiences to help people stay centered on their path through life – balancing chaos and order while striving toward their highest potential.
I am Cadre Dan and have had the best life, and I'm only halfway done.
Life is a team sport, and I am grateful for the people who have helped me get this far. These relationships I've cultivated in the first half of my life have set the conditions for me to retire in 2028 as a Sergeant Major in Special Forces.
As a servant leader, my calling is to advise, assist, and accompany others in their search for the best version of themselves.
My Personal Story
The most important title I have is Husband.
I have been happily married to my wife for twenty years now. I admire her stubbornness and perfection – she is the best teammate I could ever dream of through this journey of life. She has a professional career as a Speech Language Pathologist, where she is gifted in her passion and drive to provide the best care for mostly children.
My smoking hot wife is also mother to our three daughters. I already hit the jackpot with her, but seeing her in motherhood brings to mind the phrase "best version of yourself."
My three daughters have taught me hope, responsibility, and best of all, pure JOY. I cherish the time I get to sneak the girls away and go into the wilderness on adventures together.
In my final years of military service, I served in two distinct leadership positions that tested my skill set daily.
As the USASOC Assessment and Selection Company Sergeant Major, I worked with an incredible cadre responsible for assessing and selecting the future Special Operations Force – their professionalism was unmatched. There's nothing quite like watching people willing to push Jeeps through sand for miles, all to earn the right to be a Green Beret. I finished my service at the USASOC HQ, working in the Human Performance and Wellness Program. Being part of that program was a blessing, showing me how far the Army has come in taking care of its people.
Over a year ago, I moved to Jacksonville, Florida – a place I've always wanted to call home. Freedom is in Florida and in abundant quantities! I work as a Cadre for GORUCK events. GORUCK is the North Star and the proponent of rucking. The owner, Jason McCarthy, is one of my closest friends, and he has given me endless opportunities that I am eternally grateful for.
For as long as I can remember, I've wanted to serve in the Army.
My family has served for generations – it's engraved in my DNA. I spent 28 years in service, with multiple years in operational environments, primarily Afghanistan. I started as a Mechanic in the Reserves but quickly transitioned to active duty, volunteering to serve in the 82nd Airborne Division at Fort Bragg, NC. The first couple years of my life in the Army were rough, and I made plenty of bad decisions. Luckily, I had a team of folks help me out, and I soon found myself in a leadership position in Afghanistan in 2002-2003. After re-enlisting for overseas duty in Korea and Germany, and serving a year in Germany, I wanted to get back into the fight. I volunteered for Special Forces training and was assessed, selected, and trained to become a Green Beret.
My first assignment was ODA 3336 in Charlie Company, 3rd Battalion, 3rd Special Forces Group. 3rd SFG had established a reputation as "War Fighters" – guys you'd want in a gunfight. Over the next 13 years, I served in every leadership position in a special forces company, from Junior Engineer Sergeant to Company Sergeant Major. The time I spent as a Special Forces Soldier impacts me every day. I established relationships and built rapport with some of the best combat fighters and Special Operations soldiers ever. I want people to know the stories of these warriors I served with and inspire others to make that all-important decision to serve their country.
